Project Overview
This project was part of my Capstone at NAIT, where our team was tasked with designing and developing a simple portfolio site for Sean Lecomber. Sean is a comedian based in Edmonton Alberta, he has been looking to increase his presence online and wanted to have potential clients to directly email him outside of his agency.
Our team decided to use Astro, a JavaScript framework that has been making waves in the past few years. Just like our other project, we decided to hop on a framework we never used before as another learning experience.
My Role
I facilitated the design sprint for this project, managed the weekly task of the team, coordinated client meetings, delivered and deployed the site.
Process
We explored different frameworks to make the static site, our options was using WordPress, React, and many more. We ended up using Astro because it is a fairly simple framework to work with.
We built low-fidelity wireframes, ran user tests, and developed a consistent design system, delivered a high-fidelity design to the client.
We developed the site with the features requested by the client such as:
- A Contact Form
- Video Showcase
- Testimonials
We we were able to build and deploy it using Vercel. We have also implented a backend using Sanity.io for our client if he ever needed to add more testimonials and videos.
