Project Overview
This project was part of my Capstone at NAIT, where our team was tasked with designing and developing a full website for Clean-Up Green, a company specializing in eco-friendly oil spill cleanup. The goal was to revamp their current website with a much modern and sleek design that has e-commerce functionality.
Our team came up with the solution of using Shopify for this project. One of the primary reasons for using Shopify as our CMS is that none of us have experience with the platform, so we took that opportunity to learn something new and provide the suited platform that matches with our clients needs.
My Role
I facilitated the design sprint for this project, handled all of the team’s tasks and coordinated client meetings and translated all of the client’s requests into the project that we have right now.
I developed mostly of the header component of the site. Integrated various features such as the predictive search and cart notifications for the site.
Process
We conducted research of different ways of approaching this project. We had the option of using WordPress for this project but we ultimately end up going with Shopify.
We built low-fidelity wireframes, ran user tests, and developed a consistent design system.
We split the work into pages. I handled the header component, and service page, ensuring semantic HTML and accessibility.
